Afternoon Aperitivo Tour
Afternoon Aperitivo Tour
The best of Arthur Avenue, ending at Mario's secret bar.
Service Description
By mid-afternoon, Arthur Avenue has shifted gears. The serious shoppers have done their rounds. Now a different crowd arrives — people settling into the cafes, strolling the neighborhood, stopping for a bite or a glass of something. It's busy, social, and unhurried in the way that only old-school neighborhoods still manage to be. The stores are still open, but not for long — Arthur Avenue keeps it traditional, which means closed on Sundays, so Saturday afternoon is your last chance to pick things up for the week. The Afternoon Aperitivo Tour is built around this version of the neighborhood. We hit the key spots — picking up ingredients for Sunday, getting oysters at the sidewalk raw bar at Cosenza's, tasting olive bread at Madonia, stopping by the church to light a candle, and getting fresh-filled cannoli at Gino's. The tour ends upstairs at Mario's private bar, where a spread of the neighborhood's best is waiting — salumi, fresh mozzarella, hot dishes from Mario's kitchen — paired with wine. The kind of afternoon that is very difficult to leave. On-the-go tastings include raw oysters or cooked shrimp, olive bread, and cannoli. The aperitivo spread features a salumi and cheese board, fresh mozzarella, pizza, spiedini, and two glasses of wine per person. Saturdays at 3pm · $125 per person · 14 spots only
